CLINIC RESUMPTION UPDATES

04 March 2024

Congrats to all of us Covid pandemic survivors!

With  the WHO removal of Covid-19  on the watchlist, business facilities and even hospitals have exercised liniency on mask wearing despite the recent but mild increase.

Moving forward, our clinic schedules have normalized, we are back to face-to-face, except for the evening schedules which we haven't resumed. Just give any of my secretaries a ring to help you get a consult schedule, although you can still walk-in like before.

For those seeking teleconsults, a preliminary screening may be asked of you . Please COMPLETEly fill up the EVALUATION form which the secretary will first send you, then have it digitally signed and send it back via Viber to the secretary, for my review. You will be notified of the appointment schedule accordingly, usually late morning or early afternoon, and /or in the evening.

Here are TIPS for teleconsults to be most fruitful,

(For first-timers, request the secretary first to send you consent form. KIndly send back after signing.)

1. The patient should be knowledgeable in handling the smartphone

2. A well-versed companion is needed esp for geriatrics or those with PWDs.

3. Having the blood pressure and pulse rate taken and getting oxygen saturation via pulse oxymeter is an advantage.

4. Have recent lab tests ready.

5. Should you have an xray image to send, make arrangement with  the secretary on how I can review them before the teleconsult date.

6. An assistant is absolutely required for those who could not hear well or  manage videophone calls - specially for those who have cognitive problem, please do not leave them alone.

For face-to-face consults, walk-ins are welcome – you may call clinic secretary first and check for any last minute clinic hour changes– their numbers are on the Rx and here on the left side of the home page.

Thermal screening are still done before consult. Alcohol will also be sprayed on your head, hands and body - except if with alcohol allergy.

Medical equipments are also alcoholized before and after each patient. Due to limited space, only ONE companion can be accommodated inside clinic room.

Inside clinic areas, MD and staff will be on  light protective gears. The usual air sterilizers, air filter and room exhaust you see in the past will continue to run - there may be additional filters around.

After every consult, clinic will undergo disinfecting process(es) hence there will be lag time of  few minutes in-between consults. Patient flow will be regulated for the room in coordination with other clinic inside the room. Social distancing is less enforced – inside clinic and along corridors – with allowed waiting inside clinic.

Please consume your food and drinks before entering clinic. We discourage relatives using cellphone while the doctor is explaining.

For any patient with FEVER, COLDS, COUGH, WEAKNESS,SHORT OF BREATHING, DIARRHEA, Go to ER right away. We are also unable to accommodate you in the clinic if you have this combination of symptoms.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR KIND UNDERSTANDING .

Did you know? That those with conductive hearing loss can hear their MDs by just using the wireless bone-conducting headphones  - just connect it to a cell phone, open the Bluetooth, the doctor can talk to the patient using the phone and voila, your patient can hear his/her MD.

Bone-conducting headphones bypass the hardly-working stiff eardrum and  the bones surrounding the eardrum 'accepts' the sounds and conducts them to the inner ear --> then to the brain, where it is processed.
